How McMaster's scale works

McMaster reports a grade point average on a 12-point scale. Each course's percentage maps to a letter and a point value (A+ is 12, A is 11, A- is 10, down to F at 0). Your GPA is the average of those points weighted by each course's units, so a 3-unit course counts three times as much as a 1-unit lab.

Faculties set their own thresholds for things like honours standing, co-op eligibility and scholarships, usually as a minimum GPA or a minimum average. Check your faculty's academic regulations for the numbers that apply to you.
