How to sync your Canvas calendar with Google Calendar

Where the Canvas calendar feed link is, how to add it to Google or Apple Calendar, and why it still misses half your deadlines.

In Canvas (Quercus at U of T, eClass at York, plain Canvas at UBC):

Open Calendar in the left navigation.
Bottom right, click “Calendar Feed”.
Copy the URL. It's private to you.

Add it to Google Calendar

calendar.google.com on a computer.
Next to “Other calendars” click the plus, choose “From URL”, paste, “Add calendar”.

Add it on iPhone

Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar → paste → Save.

The catch

The Canvas feed only carries assignments the prof created as Canvas assignments with due dates. Midterm dates in the syllabus, participation rules, opt-out deadlines, and anything in a PDF never make it in. Read the syllabus anyway, or let SyllaBuddy read it and merge the two.
